USB Type C to B 2.0 Cable - PB482

USB-C to USB-B 2.0 cable for printers, scanners, audio interfaces and MIDI gear — connects square USB-B equipment to a USB-C only laptop without a dongle.

Overview

The PB482 ends in USB-B: the tall square connector that has been fitted to printers, scanners, multifunction machines, audio interfaces, MIDI keyboards and a wide range of lab and studio equipment for decades, and that shows no sign of being replaced on that equipment. The other end is USB-C.

The problem it solves appears every time an office or studio replaces a laptop. The printer, the scanner and the audio interface all still work perfectly and all still have USB-B ports; the new machine has only USB-C. The usual improvisation is an adapter stacked on the old cable, which adds a connection that can work loose and a dongle that gets lost. A single USB-C to USB-B lead removes both.

USB 2.0 is the correct specification here rather than a limitation — printers, scanners, MIDI controllers and most class-compliant audio interfaces are USB 2.0 devices, and running them over a USB 2.0 cable is exactly what they expect. The USB-C end is reversible. Construction is a black PVC jacket with a one-piece moulded housing.

Each unit ships with one cable. Length, jacket colour, printed branding and retail or bulk packaging are customisable for OEM/ODM orders.
