Certifications you can verify yourself
Anyone can call themselves a factory. These four credentials carry a number or an issuing body, so a sourcing team can confirm them independently before the first sample ships.

USB-IF USB4 certification passed — TID 6801
Our Type-C cables passed USB Implementers Forum USB4 certification testing under Test ID 6801, issued to Dongguan Taitron Electronic Limited. Our USB-IF membership has since lapsed, so the entry is no longer listed in the public USB-IF product search — the certificate itself is published on our <a href="/blog/hdmi-usb-if-certifications-and-cable-test-capability">credentials page</a> — you can open it without asking us. For a credential you can check yourself right now without asking us, search “Taitron” in the official HDMI Adopter directory: we have been a licensed HDMI Adopter continuously since June 2005.

ISO 9001 quality system — SGS CN17/31284
Quality management is certified to ISO 9001 by SGS. The certificate is issued under the name Dongguan Tonetron Electronic Limited — the same legal entity as Dongguan Taitron Electronic Limited, which is why both spellings appear across our certificates.

Our factory operations are audited under BSCI, which brand buyers and retail chains commonly require before onboarding a supplier in China.

In-house ISO 9001 laboratory
Electrical and protocol testing runs in our own lab rather than at a third party, which is what lets us do 100% testing before packing instead of sampling.
Factory or trading company — how to tell
Most cable suppliers online are trading companies reselling someone else's production. The difference shows up after you place the order, when a specification change or a failed batch has to travel back through a middleman. Four questions separate the two, and the answers below are ours.
- 01 Who owns the production line? We own the industrial park at No. 205 Zhongxing Road, Dalingshan Town, Dongguan — 50,000 m² with 9 lines and 300+ staff. A trading company will describe a factory but cannot give you its address to audit.
- 02 Whose name is on the certificate? Ask for the certificate holder, not a photo of a certificate. Ours read Dongguan Taitron Electronic Limited (USB-IF TID 6801) and Dongguan Tonetron Electronic Limited (SGS ISO 9001) — both transliterations of the same registered entity, 东莞台昶电子有限公司.
- 03 Can they change the tooling? Connector shells, moulds and E-marker configuration are tooling decisions, not catalog options. We hold 61 granted patents and run our own tooling, so a custom shell or a non-standard length is a production change rather than a request passed to a third party.
- 04 What happens to a failed batch? Every cable is electrically and protocol tested before packing in our own ISO 9001 lab. When something fails we hold it at the line. A reseller finds out when your customer does.
