USB Type A 3.0 Cable - PB459
USB 3.0 Type-A to Type-A cable — SuperSpeed A-to-A link for docking stations, USB 3.0 KVM switches and drive enclosures that require A-to-A at 3.0 speeds.
Overview
The PB459 is a USB 3.0 Type-A to Type-A cable, carrying the SuperSpeed generation of the standard on the A-to-A shape. Visually it is distinguished by the extra contact block set behind the familiar USB-A blade — those additional pairs are what carry SuperSpeed, and they are the difference between this cable and the USB 2.0 PB469 that fits the same sockets.
That distinction matters in practice. Equipment specified for USB 3.0 will accept a 2.0 A-to-A cable mechanically and then run well below its rated throughput, with no error message to explain why. On a USB 3.0 KVM switch, docking station or drive enclosure, using the correct 3.0 cable is what delivers the interface the equipment was bought for.
As with any A-to-A cable, use it only where the equipment manufacturer calls for it — it is not intended to join two computers directly, since both ends would be driving the link as hosts.
Construction is a black PVC jacket with a one-piece moulded housing, so there is no shell seam to separate and strain is spread along the jacket.
Each unit ships with one cable. Length, jacket colour, printed branding and packaging are customisable for OEM/ODM orders.
