USB Cable
USB Type A - B 3.0 Cable - PB460
USB 3.0 Type-A to Type-B cable — SuperSpeed lead with the blue-block B connector fitted to docking stations, USB 3.0 hubs and external drive enclosures.
Overview
The PB460 pairs USB-A with the USB 3.0 Type-B connector — physically taller than the USB 2.0 square B, with an extra contact block that makes it deliberately incompatible with a 2.0 B socket so the wrong cable cannot be forced into a SuperSpeed device.
This connector belongs to a specific and demanding class of equipment: USB 3.0 docking stations, powered hubs, external hard drive and SSD enclosures, and higher-end scanners and capture devices. What those devices have in common is that they move a lot of data, which is exactly where cable specification stops being academic. A docking station or drive enclosure connected on an under-specified link simply runs slow, with nothing on screen to explain it.
The cable is the component most likely to be lost when equipment is moved between desks or offices, and a USB 3.0 B lead is not something most users have spare — which makes it a steady replacement line rather than a one-off purchase.
Construction is a black PVC jacket with one-piece moulded housings.
Each unit ships with one cable. Length, jacket colour, printed branding and retail or bulk packaging are customisable for OEM/ODM orders.
