This FAQ answers the questions buyers ask most often about usb-c and usb4 specifications when sourcing directly from a manufacturer. Is every USB-C cable the same?

No. USB-C is only the connector shape. The cable behind it can range from USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) to USB4 (up to 40 Gbps), with power delivery from a few watts up to 240 W. Two identical-looking USB-C cables can differ enormously in data speed, video support and charging capacity, so the specification — not the connector — is what matters when you source.

What data speeds do your USB-C cables support?

We build to the specification you need: USB 2.0 (480 Mbps), USB 3.2 (5, 10 or 20 Gbps) and USB4 (up to 40 Gbps). Higher-speed cables use tighter shielding and construction, so tell us the target speed and length and we will confirm the right build.

How much power (wattage) can a USB-C cable carry?

USB-C Power Delivery ranges up to 240 W (48 V / 5 A) under the newer PD 3.1 EPR standard; older cables are limited to 60 W or 100 W. Cables rated above 60 W require an e-marker chip so the connected devices negotiate the higher current safely. Specify your charging target and we will build to it.

Are your USB4 cables genuinely certified?

Yes, for the certified product lines. We are a USB-IF member and our USB4 cable products are certified through USB-IF. Certification applies to specific models rather than the whole catalog, so confirm the certified SKU that matches your requirement when you request a quote.

Why do longer USB-C cables run slower?

Higher data rates are harder to sustain over distance. A 40 Gbps USB4 passive cable is typically limited to about 0.8 m; beyond that, either the speed drops or an active cable (with signal-boosting electronics) is required. For long runs at full speed, ask us about active cable options.
