This FAQ answers the questions procurement and product teams ask most often when sourcing HDMI, USB-C, DisplayPort and custom cables directly from a manufacturer in China. It reflects how we work at Tonetron (Dongguan Taitron Electronic Limited). Project-specific numbers such as minimum order quantity, sample fees, tooling costs and lead times vary by product and volume, so where a figure would depend on your order we say "request a quote" rather than publish a number that would not apply to your case.
Ordering and minimum order quantity
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
From 1,000 pcs for a standard build. Custom colours, custom lengths, printed logos and retail packaging can carry their own minimums, and a stock item behaves differently from a fully custom one. All of it is negotiable — if your volume is below 1,000, tell us the quantity and the specification anyway. We would rather discuss it than lose the enquiry.
Can I order samples before placing a bulk order?
Yes. We provide samples so you can validate fit, finish and performance before committing to production. Stock samples and custom samples are handled differently, and sample and tooling costs depend on the specification. Request a quote and we will confirm sample availability, cost and turnaround for your exact item.
OEM and ODM
What is the difference between OEM and ODM here?
With OEM (build-to-print), you supply the specification or design and we manufacture to it. With ODM, you start from one of our existing designs and we adapt it to your requirements. Both routes are available.
What can you customize?

- Conductor and shielding construction (for example OFC oxygen-free copper, braided jackets, aluminium shells)

Do you offer private-label / OEM branding?
Yes. We produce unbranded product and apply your brand through printed connectors, custom cables, and private-label retail packaging (blister, box, hang-tag and insert options). Packaging artwork and print methods are agreed per project — contact us for a quote.
Certifications and compliance
Which certifications and quality systems do you hold?
Our compliance and certification coverage includes:
- ISO 9001 quality management system
- USB-IF: USB4 cable PF587A-0080 passed USB-IF certification testing (TID 6801); our membership has since lapsed
- HDMI: HDMI Adopter since June 2005; five HDMI 2.1 cable models hold test confirmations from a third-party ATC (we are not an ATC)
- CE and FCC conformity for applicable products
- RoHS and REACH environmental compliance
What compliance documents can you provide for imports?
For applicable products we can supply certificates and test reports such as CE, FCC, RoHS and REACH documentation, plus HDMI and USB-IF certification evidence where the product is certified. Tell us your destination market and the exact SKUs, and we will confirm which documents apply to your order.
Are your HDMI and USB4 cables genuinely certified?
For specific models. Five HDMI 2.1 cable models hold third-party ATC test confirmations, and USB4 cable PF587A-0080 passed USB-IF certification testing (TID 6801; our membership has since lapsed). Certification applies to specific models rather than the entire catalog, so confirm the certified SKU that matches your requirement when you request a quote.
Packaging, lead time and logistics
Can you produce retail-ready and private-label packaging?
Yes — retail blister packs, color boxes, hang-tags and inserts, printed with your artwork. Barcodes and market-specific labeling can be added. Packaging tooling and print setup are quoted per project.
What are your lead times?
Lead time depends on order size, customization, packaging and current capacity. Stock items ship faster than fully custom builds with bespoke packaging. Because a published number would mislead for most orders, we quote lead time together with the price — please contact us for a quote.
How do you handle shipping and Incoterms?
We support common Incoterms and can arrange export by sea or air. Share your destination and preferred terms and we will include logistics options in your quote.
