VGA/DVI Cable

VGA Cable (3+9) - PB488

VGA cable in 3+9 configuration — three coaxial cores plus nine conductors, the higher-specification build for longer runs and higher resolutions than 3+6.

Overview

The PB488 is built to a 3+9 configuration. In VGA cable construction that number describes what is actually inside the jacket: three individually shielded coaxial cores carrying the red, green and blue signals, plus nine further conductors for sync, ground and the display data channel.

The practical significance is that 3+9 is the fuller build. The three colour signals are the ones that degrade visibly over distance — a VGA picture that has gone soft, ghosted or colour-fringed at the far end of a long run is almost always a shielding problem on those cores. The additional conductors also carry the display data channel intact, which is what lets a computer read the monitor's supported resolutions rather than guessing.

Specify 3+9 for longer cable runs, higher resolutions, and permanent installations where the cable is going into a wall or ceiling and will not be easy to replace. Where the run is short and the resolution modest — a desktop PC to a monitor a metre away — the PLT488 in 3+6 configuration is the more economical build for the same job.

Construction is a black PVC jacket with moulded housings. The box contains one cable. Length, colour, branding and packaging are customisable for OEM/ODM orders.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does 3+9 configuration mean?
3+9 means three individually shielded coaxial cores for RGB signals plus nine additional conductors for sync, ground and display data channel. This fuller build prevents signal degradation over longer distances and preserves monitor resolution detection.
When should I choose PB488 (3+9) over a 3+6 cable?
Choose 3+9 for longer cable runs, higher resolutions, and permanent installations where the cable will be difficult to replace. For short desktop runs (under 1m) and modest resolutions, a 3+6 configuration is more economical.
What customization options are available for OEM orders?
Length, colour, branding and packaging are customisable for OEM/ODM orders. Contact our sales team to discuss your specific requirements.
What is included in the box?
One VGA cable with molded housings, black PVC jacket, and VGA connectors.
What causes VGA picture degradation, and how does PB488 prevent it?
Soft, ghosted or colour-fringed images are almost always caused by inadequate shielding on the RGB coaxial cores. The PB488's three individually shielded coaxial cores maintain signal integrity over longer distances.
