RCA/3.5mm Cable
3.5mm to 2 x 3.5mm Audio Cable - PB155
4-conductor CTIA 3.5mm headset splitter in black PVC with a moulded housing — one headset plug to separate headphone and microphone sockets.
Overview
The PB155 splits a single 3.5mm plug into two 3.5mm sockets with 4-conductor CTIA wiring, so the microphone channel is carried alongside left and right audio instead of being dropped.
That wiring is what makes it a headset splitter rather than a plain audio splitter. A desktop PC or an older laptop presents two separate round jacks — one headphone, one microphone — while a modern headset ends in a single combined plug that fits neither of them properly. Without this cable the user gets audio with a dead microphone, or a working microphone and no audio. For calls, support desks, gaming and online teaching it is a functional requirement, not an accessory.
Within the 155 range this is the moulded build. The housing is formed around the cable in one piece rather than assembled from a shell, which removes the seam that a plastic two-part body can work open and bonds the strain relief into the body — the construction that survives being pulled by one leg out of a crowded desk. With a black PVC jacket it is specified for volume and OEM programmes, where cables ship in quantity as part of a headset or workstation package. The white ABS MP155 is the retail-facing equivalent and the aluminium-shelled HMM155 the heavier desk build.
CTIA is the wiring the great majority of phone and PC headsets use, so it is the correct default to specify; a headset built to the older OMTP arrangement has microphone and ground swapped and will not behave correctly.
Each unit ships with one cable. Length, jacket colour, branding and packaging are customisable for OEM/ODM orders.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What wiring standard does the PB155 use?
- The PB155 uses CTIA 4-conductor wiring, the standard used by the majority of modern phone and PC headsets. This ensures the microphone channel is properly carried alongside left and right audio.
- Can I customize the PB155 for my order?
- Yes. Length, jacket color, branding, and packaging are customizable for OEM/ODM orders. Contact us for volume program specifications.
- What is the difference between PB155, MP155, and HMM155?
- The PB155 features molded black PVC construction designed for OEM volume programs. The MP155 is the white ABS retail equivalent, and the HMM155 uses an aluminum shell for heavier desk use.
- Will this work with OMTP headsets?
- No. The PB155 is built to CTIA standard. OMTP headsets have swapped microphone and ground pins and will not function correctly with this cable.
- What problem does this cable solve?
- It allows modern single-plug headsets with microphone to work with older desktop PCs or laptops that have separate headphone and microphone jacks, preserving both audio and mic functionality.
