RCA/3.5mm Cable

3.5mm to 2 x 3.5mm Audio Cable - HMM155

3.5mm headset splitter, 4-conductor CTIA with microphone support — one plug to separate headphone and mic sockets, in an aluminium shell with flexible TPE jacket.

Overview

The HMM155 splits a single 3.5mm plug into two 3.5mm sockets, and the specification that matters is the 4-conductor CTIA wiring: it carries the microphone channel as well as left and right audio.

That is the difference between a headset splitter and an ordinary audio splitter. A desktop PC or older laptop has two separate round sockets — one for headphones, one for a microphone — while a modern headset terminates in a single combined plug. Without this cable the headset either plays audio with no working microphone, or the microphone works and the audio does not. For anyone taking calls, in a call centre, in gaming, or in online teaching, that makes it a functional requirement rather than a convenience.

CTIA is the wiring standard the great majority of phone and PC headsets use, so this is the configuration to specify by default. If a headset is wired to the older OMTP arrangement instead, the microphone and ground are swapped and results will not be correct.

The shell is aluminium with a TPE jacket, which stays flexible and coils tightly — appropriate for a cable that lives on a desk and gets moved daily. The white PVC MP155 in the same range is the equivalent in a lighter build for retail packaging.

Each unit ships with one cable. Length, colour, branding and packaging are customisable for OEM/ODM orders.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the HMM155 and a regular audio splitter?
The HMM155 is a 4-conductor CTIA headset splitter that carries both microphone and stereo audio signals. A standard audio splitter only splits left/right channels. This cable allows modern single-plug headsets to work with dual-socket PC inputs (separate headphone and mic ports).
Will this cable work with my headset?
Yes, if your headset uses CTIA wiring (the standard for most modern phone and PC headsets). If your headset uses the older OMTP standard, the microphone and ground channels are swapped and will not function correctly. CTIA is the default configuration for the majority of headsets.
What materials is the HMM155 made from?
The HMM155 features an aluminum shell with a flexible TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) jacket that coils tightly and remains flexible for daily desk use.
Can we order custom versions with different colors, lengths, or branding?
Yes. Length, colour, branding, and packaging are customisable for OEM/ODM orders. Contact us for customization details and minimum order quantities.
How does the cable ship, and is there a lighter alternative?
Each HMM155 unit ships with one cable. We also offer the MP155 in white PVC as a lighter-build equivalent suitable for retail packaging if preferred.
