What is the difference between HDMI version and HDMI cable class?
The HDMI version (2.0, 2.1, 2.2) describes the capability of the specification and devices; the cable class (High Speed, Premium High Speed, Ultra High Speed) describes what a cable is certified to carry. To reach 48 Gbps for 8K, you need an Ultra High Speed certified cable, not just an "HDMI 2.1" label.
Which HDMI cable do I need for 4K and for 8K?
For 4K at 60 Hz, an 18 Gbps HDMI 2.0-class (Premium High Speed) cable is sufficient and cost-effective. For 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz, gaming and high color depth, specify an Ultra High Speed (48 Gbps) HDMI 2.1 certified cable.
Are your HDMI 2.1 cables certified?
Yes for the certified lines. We hold HDMI 2.1 product certification, backed by an in-house HDMI 2.1 ATC (Authorized Test Center) test qualification, and manufacture Ultra High Speed certified cables rated 48 Gbps, 8K@60Hz. Confirm the certified model when requesting a quote.
Does a longer HDMI cable affect picture quality?
At high bandwidth, yes. Length, shielding and connector quality all determine whether a link sustains its rated bandwidth. This matters most at 8K and above, which is why certified construction and adequate shielding are important for longer runs.
